ThyssenKrupp is using sensor data from its elevators to predict future repairs, component replacements and system maintenance issues before they can occur.

The company has unveiled a new remote monitoring and proactive service product for its elevator customers that is powered by IoT technology.

The product was developed by ThyssenKrupp engineers and data scientists working for Microsoft.

Microsoft said in a blog post it had used key learnings from the ThyssenKrupp project to improve its pre-configured Azure IoT suite product, which was launched recently.
