Microsoft has released the second pre-configured solution under its Azure IoT Suite, this one aimed at predictive maintenance applications.

Predictive maintenance was flagged as being on the product roadmap when Azure IoT Suite was unveiled at the end of September this year.

“When you unlock the power of IoT to capture and analyse data, your business can identify warning signs of potential problems, predict when equipment needs maintenance, and pre-emptively service that equipment before problems occur,” Microsoft said in a blog post coinciding with its Convergence EMEA conference in Barcelona.

Microsoft has already released a remote monitoring pre-configured solution, and other similar solutions are planned.
