Thingworx and Analog Devices have partnered to make it easier for customers to deploy IoT environments.

Analog Devices is a maker of sensors and integrated circuits that “play a fundamental role in converting, conditioning, and processing real-world phenomena such as temperature, pressure, sound, light, speed, and motion into electrical signals to be used in a wide array of electronic devices,” it said.

Thingworx makes a software-based IoT platform that helps manage sensor deployments and analyse the data they generate.

Together the two firms plan to jointly offer a “sensor to cloud environment” to customers.

“Our vision in this IoT era is to help companies harness the power of the data generated from sensors in smart, connected products,” Analog Devices healthcare, consumer and IoT vice president Martin Cotter said.

As a sensor maker, Analog Devices was already well-established in the IoT space, chief financial officer David Zinsner said in separate comments.

“IoT is not new to us,” he said.

“We have seen solid revenue growth in this area over the past few years.

“Our strategic investments, combined with a healthy design pipeline across key markets such as industrial and healthcare, position us for sustainable, diverse, and profitable revenue growth ahead.”
